The Vail whitewater series start has been pushed a week due to lower flows on Gore Creek organizers announced yesterday. The first race will now be Tuesday May 18th and the final event will take place on June 15th.

The Vail whitewater series is a five week event taking place on Tuesdays in the heart of Vail Village. The course challenge for each event will be determined the day of the race based on river flows.

  • 5:00pm registration and course inspection

  • 5:30pm races start

  • 3 divisions-Kayak (under 9'6"), Raft (R2) & SUP divisions

Each week, the two-round format will consist of an individual time trial with results determining the seeding for the second, head-to-head race. Lakota Guides will be on-site at each event with rafts available for R2 teams to use. An after-party will also be hosted in Vail Village each week where cash and product prizes will be awarded to the winners of all three categories and all participants and spectators over 21 will receive a free beer courtesy of New Belgium Brewing Company.

The first four races start at the Covered Bridge and end at International Bridge. The final race will start at the Amphitheater Bridge in Ford Park.
